The NWEA Maps test is a computer based assessment given to our students at least twice a year. This assessment is individualized for each student; if the student does well the test gets harder. It gives an overall score and percentile ranking compared to kids across the nation in math, reading and language. The picture on the left will take you to a "Parent Toolkit" that will help you prepare your student for these tests!

Help your student find a book that is at the right level for them. The NWEA test calculates a "Lexile Range" for each student. Use this link at the left to find books at a particular level or to determine the level of the book you're reading.

This is an amazing tool for parents to see the new and radical ways our math curriculum, Everyday Math, teaches our students algorithms. You can watch an animation of "Lattice Multiplication" and "Partial Quotients." Ask your students to walk you through the process to see if they actually understood the lesson.
