My name is Kristen Metevia and I am 28 years old. This is my sixth year teaching at Madison Elementary and I love it! I taught third grade for two years and I'm starting my fourth year in fifth grade. My favorite thing about fifth grade is going to fifth grade camp!
I graduated from Eastern Michigan University in December of 2007 with a major in Elementary Education. I am also certified to teach middle school math and reading.

I grew up in Walled Lake, Michigan. My mom and step-dad live there still and I love to go visit. I have one sister, Sarah, who lives in Grand Rapids with her husband. I have a chocolate lab named Paisley. She's 4 years old and loves to play fetch.
My favorite part about being a teacher is watching my class realize their full potential. I believe in each of my students and want to help them follow their dreams. I strive for my classroom to become a second family for all of us. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher, I just didn't know it could be this fun!
